Kodak has a way to ensure that you buy their product and hence despite having bought a good re-charger and 2500mAh, I was more or less forced to buy this battery and the Kodak recharging unit.
Regular 2500mAh batteries would not give you more than 150 shots and its simply because the Camera shuts down when the battery does not supply the demanded surge. Result - your camera does not even retract the lens and simply shuts down. At this stage your batteries would still give you lots of click on any other camera.
These batteries are expensive but ultimately they are worth it. The camera does give more than 250 shots...

I have a Kodak camera and this was the battery I needed, what else is there to say? Oh, and it shipped ultra quick, it got to me in 2 days ground.
