Expected a bit more from a brand name like HoyaJun 26, 2010

Received the Hoya 67mm multicoated slim frame UV filter as a Birthday gift in March 2010. It was much needed since the following month we had a cruise planned to the Panama Canal, Costa Rica, & several ports in Mexico. The first time I used the filter (while on the cruise) & went to take it off the camera lens. The inside section of the filter where it's seamed together snapped in half (and later I realised it's made out of plastic!) Boy was I shocked. Good thing the plastic broken piece didn't scratch my new Nikon D90 lens! After the trip,I contacted the company & was told to send it back along with a copy of the receipt. Good thing my daughter saved the receipt & it was bought from one of their "preferred vendors" and that I had saved the case it came in. From the paper work I received back w/the filter, it said they repaired it and their work had a 6 month warrant. Heck, they should have given me a new filter. In fact I just looked at the filter while writing this review & it looks to me as the same problem is still there. The inside plastic piece holding the glass element has a huge space. I have had camera filters for years & have not seen this before. I would say DON'T BUY THIS FILTER.

Obviously one of the bestJan 07, 2011
By R. Barrett Does what it's supposed to do well: not be noticed. Bought this to protect my Cannon 100mm f/2.8L USM Macro lens. Keeps the glass protected without being noticeable in the shots. It's a bodyguard for my <$1000 lens.

No complains!May 11, 2010
By Fabricio Ribeiro I am using the Hoya all the time and I haven't noticed any impacts on image quality. Up to now, it is fulfilling my expectations.
