 Very Fragil, DON"T BUYOct 08, 2007

I am very careful with my camera, no marks and no scratches anywhere on the body. That said I have had no protector on the LCD for over 6 months and still no scratches. I thought it best though to put some protection on it and bought this screen protector because it looked better then the other non-glass products. Frankly, the "glass" part should have been warning enough. Less then 1 week after installing somehow it got a very small crack on the corner, which then spread across the protective screen. I had to remove and discard. I do not recommend this product at all.

Purchased several for my Canon DSLRs. Great for protecting the LCD screen on the camera, already cracked a couple and have replaced them readily. Very easy to install! I wouldn't go out with my camera without them!

I have bought 3 of these, used 2. They do seem more fragile and scratch-prone than the glass on the lcd screen itself, however I'd rather have to replace these every so often then risk having a scratched up or cracked lcd. The first one I bought got a chip on the side when someone was less than careful with my camera I replaced it. The adhesive releases cleanly if you heat the screen for a minute with a hair-drier and then pry it off slowly. The Giottos glass is more reflective than the lcd itself making the screen harder to view when there is light behind you.

I bought this to protect my LCD on 5D because covering I had been using
(cut strip to fit like on ipod) was interfering with looking at LCD....wrinkly and cloudy. I am very pleased with clarity and have no problems. I'm looking to buy one for my 40D as soon as they are available.
