Finally, a digitizer that really worksAug 31, 2010 I've been using a digitizer for years that produced videos that looked good, sounded good - but didn't synch audio well, especially after editing. That's because (evidentally) it was saving as mpeg. Canopis saves as huge AVI, but it works!
Finally an External Video Capture device that works!Aug 24, 2010 I've purchased several external video capture devices only to find out the image quality was less than desired or that the device was not recognized by video editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro, etc. The Canopus ADVC110 has a Firewire connection that works much like plugging-in a camcorder to your PC. It captures at full frame rates and provides a clear, smooth picture and audio. And Adobe Premier Pro's capture feature can natively see this device. It is a bit more expensive than other video capture devices on the market, but in contrast to them, this product works without compromise of video quality and compatibility.

Canopus ADVC110 - It works great on a Mac Pro and with Snow LeopardJul 01, 2010 After reading reviews on AD converter products (which ones work and which ones do not work and why), I decided to make the investment and go for the Canopus ADVC 110. The money was worth it; this product will save you a lot of time and put a smile on your face. It is simple to set up and its use is intuitive; within a few minutes I was importing video successfully from my old VHS tapes into iMovie; everything was in sync without any dropped frames. It works like a charm as does iMovie. For me, Canopus is the way to go for a Mac Pro with Snow Leopard.
great product!May 04, 2010 Even if its a bit pricey it's well worth the investment if you intend to do a significant amount of video conversion. Easy to use but the directions could have been a bit more clear.

Easy to use, good video qualityApr 11, 2010 I bought the ADVC110 to convert tons of VHS home movies to DVD or MPEG-4 archives, and this device does (well, starts) the job admirably. After reading reviews of various capture devices, I settled on the ADVC110 because I liked the idea of dedicated capture hardware that also kept the audio in sync, and I didn't trust my PC to have the processing power to do it all in software.
I'm very satisfied so far -- I've had no problems with dropped frames or shifted audio. It creates DV-AVI Type 2 files at 720x480, which my video editor handles nicely.
The only problem I had (and this is no fault of the ADVC110, but I wanted to mention it in case it helps anyone else) was that my on-board Firewire ports just didn't work. They evidently powered the ADVC100 (the lights came on), but Windows wouldn't detect it. So I eventually ended up getting a $10 1394 PCI card, and now everything works perfectly.
